Here I am on my road to a Gluten free life style. I decided that my life and health is more important than the convenience of packed cookies, cakes, pies, blah blah blah blah !!!! Mostly everything you find already made in the grocery store. Besides I know how to cook, and like common said in his song, Its Your world "Im good at workin with my hands!" lol! I believe God was truly trying to tell me something when the cd began to skip and that part just kept playing over and over again.
This is all very new to me, so I am hoping to find a kind of support system. Ive read some books, chatted with a few celiacs like myself but some things are still a little unclear to me.
I guess the first thing to do is share a little bit of my story.
It all started about 4 years ago. My tummy was very upset with me, and she just refused to take what I was giving her. Even water wasn't good enough for her. {LOL I talk in the third person from time to time} I went to see my doctor several times, and he couldn't come up with anything but questions that didn't seem to be going in the direction of an answer. Did you go out of the country? Did you come in contact with any wild animals? Have you eaten any raw meats? NO NO NO NO .So after months of excruciating pain, and repeated trips to the bathroom, he finally had the sense to send me to the gastro. There I was poked and tested, sampled and xrayed. After 2 trips with out patient we found out I not only had crohns but i also had celiac! LUCKY ME!
I didnt take it seriously at all..Finally I decided that I cant live like this anymore. And here i am!
My tummy is healed.. I speak it so he may heal it!
Now i am here to share what I know, and I come to learn from others. I have started experimenting a lot.. i dont like to boast.. ok i do .. i can cook my gf ass off! I LOve It I LOVE IT I LOVE IT!
Sometimes i feel like im not catching everything though. Ive read that I cant cook with the same pans in some places, and that i need different silver ware than my family. Is this true? I dont want to be a castaway, I plan to live a normal life, even if i do have such a rare allergy.
If you have anyway to help let me know! Its appreciated.
